Cybersecurity team has recommended using Google Chrome carefully after discovering flaws in custom tabs, intent, extensions, navigation, autofill and downloads. With this warning, it is said that cybercriminals can exploit them to catch you and scam you of your personal data. For this, your Chrome must be updated.

 Google Chrome update: These vulnerabilities have been identified as high risk and may enable hackers to take control of users' systems or capture sensitive information. The cybersecurity agency advises that, if you use Chrome, it is crucial that you update your browser to the latest version now to remain secure.

"Google Chrome contains several vulnerabilities due to inadequate implementation in custom tabs, intent, extensions, navigation, autofill, and downloads. An attacker who is remote could exploit these vulnerabilities by inducing the victim to open a specially designed web page. Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities would enable a remote attacker to run arbitrary code on a target system.

Impacted Software

A warning released by CERT-In revealed that the vulnerability impacts Chrome versions below 135.0.7049.52 on Linux and versions below 135.0.7049.41/42 on Windows and macOS. These problems are associated with features such as downloads, autofills, extensions and website navigation in Chrome.

How to Update Your Google Chrome Browser

The tech giant has made updates to resolve security vulnerabilities in the Chrome browser, as per CERT-In. 

  1. Open the Chrome on your laptop. 
  2. Click the three dots on the top-right corner of the screen. 
  3. Select the Help section and then click About Google Chrome. 
  4. Chrome will download and install updates, if available. 
  5. Click "Relaunch" after the update to reopen the browser

When Chrome is restarted, it will be updated with the most current security patches.
