In a recent post on his WhatsApp channel, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared, “Rolling out some new filters and backgrounds for video calls, so had to test them out,” while showcasing various filter and background effects. This update aims to create a more engaging atmosphere, enabling users to choose from 10 unique filters that include Warm, Cool, Black & White, Light Leak, Dreamy, Prism Light, Fisheye, Vintage TV, Frosted Glass, and Duo Tone.
Custom backgrounds for a personalized touch
The update also features 10 new background options, allowing users to maintain privacy and transport themselves to different settings. Users can select backgrounds such as Blur, Living Room, Office, Cafe, Pebbles, Foodie, Smoosh, Beach, Sunset, Celebration, and Forest. This customization not only makes calls more enjoyable but also helps create a cleaner and more polished appearance.
Improving call quality with touch-up filters
Additionally, users can now take advantage of touch-up and low-light filters to enhance their video quality during calls, ensuring clearer and more flattering video chats. To utilize these features, users can initiate a video call on WhatsApp and tap the effect icon located in the top right corner of their smartphone to select their preferred effects or backgrounds. This exciting update is currently being rolled out for both Android and iOS smartphone users.
