CERT-In alerts android users warned of major security vulnerabilities; Here's how to protect your device

New Delhi: The Indian government has issued a crucial alert for Android users, warning them of potential vulnerabilities in the operating system that could put sensitive data at risk. The advisory, issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), highlighted several security flaws that could allow cyber attackers to gain unauthorized access to devices, leaving users vulnerable to malware, phishing, and data breaches.

These vulnerabilities, affecting Android versions prior to 14, have been classified as “high risk” by the government agency. If exploited, attackers could execute malicious codes, steal personal information, and compromise financial security. Users have been urged to update their devices immediately to the latest security patches and versions to mitigate these risks.

CERT-In has provided several recommendations to help Android users stay protected.
