IPL 2025: CSK to qualify for playoffs after embarrassing defeat against Kolkata! Batting coach told the whole plan

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are currently going through a tough phase in IPL 2025. Another embarrassing defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has made their situation worse. However, CSK batting coach Michael Hussey has not given up hope and believes that his team can make it to the playoffs. The defeat against Kolkata on April 11, 2025, led to the worst situation in IPL history for CSK. This was the fifth consecutive defeat, which has taken the team to ninth place in the points table, while Sunrisers Hyderabad are just below them.

However, CSK batting coach Michael Hussey admitted that the team is not playing good cricket at the moment, but he believes that with the remaining eight matches, CSK can still qualify for the playoffs. "We're not going to give up just yet. The IPL is a long tournament, and we need to win consistently good matches to just get fourth place in it. Hussey also said CSK should focus on their strategy and team cohesion. "We accept the mistakes we have made so far, but that does not mean that we cannot change things. The team has to improve by believing in their strengths, not making a big change in the style of play.

CSK can reach the playoffs

Hussey said, "The players we have reached the IPL only by playing in their style. We can't just ask them to play any other way all of a sudden. If we change too much, it may make our situation worse. I'm pretty sure we can come back. There's a lot more to come, and anything can happen in the IPL. If we work in the right direction and the team stays together, we can turn this tournament around. If we play well, we can make it to the playoffs."
