One of the star cricketers of Australia chose not to play in this year's IPL because of injury. This player did not even reveal his name for the mega auction. Now this player is back on the field after waiting for a long time. This player has come back to the field from English county cricket and in his very first match, he was able to score an excellent century. But after a century, he was unable to remain on the field for more than a short while and then retired after an injury.
In his comeback match following back surgery in October, Australian star all-rounder Cameron Green made a dazzling hundred. He made a century for English county side Gloucestershire. In this match being played in Canterbury, he made the century off 171 balls, but thereafter had to leave the field in cramps. However, after the day's play, Green confirmed that after a good night's sleep and a brief meal, he would be able to continue his innings on the second day.
Cameron Green is only the 10th player to score a century in first-class cricket on debut for Gloucestershire. When he came out to bat, his team had lost 3 wickets for 41 runs. Following this, Cameron Green led the team's innings and also got runs. Green will remain with the team up to the end of May when he will appear in five four-day red-ball games to recover his match fitness to play for Australia in the World Test Championship final at Lord's in June.RCB purchased by trade
Cameron Green was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the previous season of IPL. But due to his injury, RCB chose not to retain him. He was previously a member of Mumbai Indians. But he was traded from Mumbai Indians to Royal Challengers Bangalore before the 2024 auction. For which RCB spent Rs 17.5 crore.
