Who's mini Kejriwal winning hearts during the heat of Delhi election? READ
As vote counting begins for the high-stakes Delhi Assembly elections, a young AAP supporter dressed as 'Mini Kejriwal' adds a dash of nostalgia and political fervor to the atmosphere.

As vote counting begins in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, young AAP supporter Avyan Tomar, nicknamed 'Mini Kejriwal', brings a nostalgic charm to the tense political atmosphere, embodying the youth-driven support for Arvind Kejriwal's leadership.
Mini Kejriwal: A Tradition of political support and mascotry
As the counting of votes for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections begins, all eyes are on the early trends that will decide whether Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) can secure a fourth consecutive term. But amid the political tension and anticipation, a familiar, youthful face has emerged outside Kejriwal’s residence-Avyan Tomar, affectionately known as 'Baby Mufflerman'.
Avyan, dressed as a mini version of the Delhi Chief Minister, stepped out in the morning donning a blue sweater with a white collar, a green puff jacket, and his signature spectacles. His moustache was painted on, mimicking Kejriwal’s iconic winter look from recent press conferences. Avyan’s father, Rahul Tomar, a devoted AAP supporter, said, "We always come here on result days,"as the young boy joined in the excitement and uncertainty surrounding the election results.
This display of support isn’t a first for Avyan. The young AAP supporter, who has become a mascot of sorts for the party, has been mimicking Kejriwal’s signature look since the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections.
A tradition of political mascotry
Avyan Tomar, who is just a few years old, became a viral sensation during the 2020 Delhi elections when he dressed as Kejriwal for the first time. Wearing a red sweater, AAP cap, and muffler, Avyan flashed a victory sign outside Kejriwal's residence, capturing the hearts of many. The image, posted on AAP's official X (formerly Twitter) handle, quickly became iconic, with the party endearingly calling him the 'Mufflerman'.

At the time, AAP secured 62 out of 70 Assembly seats, a resounding victory that made Avyan's appearance all the more memorable. Following this win, he was invited to the swearing-in ceremony of Kejriwal as Delhi’s Chief Minister. The young mascot’s role didn’t stop there.
In the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, Avyan dressed as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, sporting a turban and moustache along with Kejriwal’s muffler. This playful tribute came after AAP’s stunning victory in Punjab, further cementing Avyan’s position as an unofficial mascot of the party.
A tense wait: Will AAP retain its Delhi stronghold?
As the results begin to unfold, the question on everyone’s mind is whether AAP will continue to dominate the Delhi political landscape for another term or if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will return to power after nearly three decades. The early trends show the BJP leading in 38 seats, with AAP securing 27, according to Election Commission figures.
Exit polls have forecasted a strong performance by the BJP, with projections suggesting that the party could win between 45 and 55 seats. If these predictions hold true, it would mark a significant blow to AAP, who has been in power since 2015.
Meanwhile, the Congress party, which once dominated Delhi under Sheila Dikshit’s leadership, is expected to win only one seat, continuing its decline in the national capital.
A young supporter’s symbolic role in Delhi politics
Avyan’s unwavering support for Kejriwal has become a symbol of the strong grassroots connection AAP has cultivated over the years. His transformation into ‘Mini Kejriwal’ highlights the party’s ability to resonate with young voters and families in Delhi. His presence today adds an emotional layer to the tense vote-counting process, as both AAP and its rivals wait to see how the public has responded to their years of governance and campaign promises.
For many AAP supporters, the young boy represents hope and a fresh wave of political engagement. His father, Rahul, who has been a strong supporter of the party, believes that Avyan’s consistent role in the party’s narrative helps reinforce the importance of youth participation in shaping the future of Delhi.
