Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP leaders stated that there is no politics involved in it, as it is simply a routine process of the Home Ministry.

Meanwhile, some BJP leaders have said that it is the central government’s decision to determine who should be given security. Every three months, a list is issued that specifies who has been provided security and whose security has been withdrawn. Regarding this decision by Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP leaders stated that there is no politics involved in it, as it is simply a routine process of the Home Ministry.
Withdrawn belong to West Bengal
According to a report all 32 BJP leaders whose security has been withdrawn belong to West Bengal. The report suggests that the list includes the names of leaders who contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and faced defeat. The list includes names such as former Union Minister John Barla, former MP Dasharath Tirkey, and Sukhdev Panda.

Apart from this, the names of former IPS officers Debashish Dhar, Abhijit Das, Deepak Haldar, Priya Saha, and Dhananjay Ghosh are also included in the list. The security arrangements for all these leaders have been withdrawn.
Abhijit Das said, "Currently, I am in Haridwar. As of now, I have no information regarding this matter. I have not received any communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs. This is a routine process under which such lists are issued every three months. It is a protocol of the Ministry of Home Affairs. A similar list of 20 names was released a few days ago. After that, security was reinstated for some leaders."
