Virendra Sachdeva confirms BJP's confidence in forming the next Delhi government, with the central leadership to decide the CM. He stresses that voters have chosen development and a corruption-free model under PM Modi’s leadership.

BJP confident of victory, CM candidate to be decided by central leadership

As the counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections continues, early trends have shown the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading with 38 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) holds 27 seats. BJP’s Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva, speaking to the media, asserted that the next Delhi Chief Minister will be from the BJP. However, he clarified that the central leadership will have the final say on who the nominee will be.

“The results so far are in line with our expectations, but we will wait for the final outcome,” Sachdeva said, after offering prayers at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, Delhi. The party is optimistic about securing a victory based on the early trends.

BJP's success tied to development and corruption-free governance

Sachdeva praised BJP candidates for their hard work, noting that the people of Delhi had chosen development and corruption-free governance as their top priorities. He emphasized that voters had rallied behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, seeking a model of progress and transparency.

“People have picked PM Modi's leadership because they wanted a model of development,” Sachdeva stated, asserting that the victory is a result of the Prime Minister’s vision. He further emphasized that Delhi would benefit from a “double-engine government,” referring to the BJP's leadership at both the national and city levels.

BJP's erlection strategy focused on real issues

Addressing the key issues of the Delhi elections, Sachdeva accused AAP and its leader Arvind Kejriwal of focusing on superficial promises and avoiding accountability on matters that directly affect Delhi’s residents. He listed broken roads, controversial liquor policies, dirty water, and corruption as major issues raised by the BJP during its campaign.

Taking a dig at Kejriwal, Sachdeva remarked, “Whenever we questioned him on these issues, he either stayed silent or ran away.” He added that Kejriwal had attempted to win elections by making false promises, but the people of Delhi had seen through these tactics and voted for change.

A call for change: Delhi's pain Is real, voters chose Modi's leadership

Sachdeva’s comments echoed the BJP’s broader campaign message, which revolved around bringing an end to the struggles of Delhi residents. He argued that the pain of the people was “real” and that the voters had decided to bring about change by endorsing Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

“We will ensure that Delhi gets a strong and stable government,” Sachdeva concluded, projecting confidence that the BJP will form the next government in the capital.
