Uttarakhand Avalanche: 47 people trapped inside Badrinath in Uttarakhand| UPDATE
The thick snowfall resulted in an avalanche which hit the region adjacent to Mana village beyond Badrinath. The snow burial left 47 workers underneath the snow as reported in available information.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) experienced at least 57 worker fatalities when a large glacier disrupted near Mana within the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Thick snowfall caused the snow to break loose as an avalanche struck the land situated after Mana village near Badrinath.
Indo-Tibetan Border Police
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami confirmed that 16 laborers have been rescued . He assured that all necessary preparations have been made, and rescue operations are being carried out with the support of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), district administration, and other agencies. CM Dhami stated, "We are making every possible effort to rescue all those who trapped as soon as possible." The rescue operation is ongoing, and officials are closely monitoring the situation.
Uttarakhand CM Expresses Concern
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep concern over the glacier collapse. CM Dhami confirmed that the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Border Roads Organization (BRO), and other rescue teams have been deployed to conduct relief and rescue operations in the affected area.
What did the CM say?
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "I have received the sad news that several workers have been trapped due to a glacier collapse near Mana village during BRO's construction work. ITBP, BRO, and other teams are carrying out rescue operations. I pray to Lord Badri Vishal for the safety of all our worker brothers."

He further added that the condition of the 16 rescued individuals is critical, and they have been taken to the hospital for necessary treatment. According to Uttarakhand Police Headquarters spokesperson IG Nilesh Anand Bharne, "The glacier collapse has impacted the BRO's worksite, trapping several workers under snow and debris. BRO's Executive Engineer C.R. Meena has confirmed that three to four ambulances have been sent to the site, but heavy snowfall hindring rescue operations."
