Anu Dhankar, a 19-year-old nicknamed the ‘Lady Don,’ was apprehended by the Delhi Police Special Cell on Friday as she attempted to escape to Nepal. Dhankar, a prime suspect in the June murder of 26-year-old Aman Joon, was intercepted near the Indo-Nepal border. The killing, reportedly tied to a gang rivalry, was caught on surveillance footage, revealing her alleged role in orchestrating the attack at a Delhi Burger King.

CCTV Footage Captures Shocking Burger King Attack

Security footage from the Rajouri Garden Burger King shows Aman Joon entering the restaurant and sitting with Dhankar. Moments later, several men approached their table, opening fire and killing Joon on the spot. Dhankar reportedly fled the scene with his phone and wallet. Known for her ties to gang leader Himanshu Bhau, currently believed to be hiding in Portugal, Dhankar allegedly aided in the murder as retaliation for the gang-related killing of Shakti Dada in Haryana. Following the incident, Bhau publicly claimed responsibility, calling it revenge.

Police Track Dhankar’s Elusive Movements

Dubbed the ‘Lady Don,’ Dhankar was reportedly promised a life of luxury in America by Bhau. After the murder, she eluded authorities by moving through multiple cities. Starting from her residence in Mukherjee Nagar, she traveled to Chandigarh, later staying in cities like Amritsar, Katra, Jalandhar, and Haridwar, with a four-month hiding period in Kota, Rajasthan. Bhau is reported to have financially supported her throughout her time on the run.

Near-Escape Foiled at Indo-Nepal Border

In late October, Bhau advised Dhankar to flee the country, allegedly planning a Nepal-to-Dubai route. She reached Lucknow before making her way to Lakhimpur Kheri, aiming to cross into Nepal, where the police finally arrested her. Authorities have noted her criminal history, including her involvement in a January gunfire incident at Maturam Halwai, and are further investigating her ties to gang activities.
