Terror alert in Kishtwar: Police seek public help with Rs 5 lakh rewards for capturing terrorists
The Jammu and Kashmir Police has identified four terrorists actively operating in the Kishtwar region. Authorities have appealed to the public for assistance in locating them and announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to their capture.
In a decisive step to curb terrorism in Jammu’s Kishtwar district, the Jammu and Kashmir Police unveiled photographs of four active terrorists on Saturday. To aid their capture, authorities have announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for anyone providing credible information about these individuals.
Details of the Wanted Terrorists
The police identified the terrorists as Saifullah, Farman, Adil, and another individual believed to be Basha. Their photographs, along with names, were publicized through posters in both Urdu and English.
According to the official poster, “The general public is requested to share any information about the individuals shown in the photographs. A reward of Rs 5 lakh for each terrorist will be provided for credible leads.”
Ensuring Informer Anonymity
The police assured that the identity of informers will remain strictly confidential to encourage cooperation without fear of reprisal. The move follows a series of terror attacks in Kishtwar and other parts of Jammu last year, as Pakistan-based handlers intensified efforts to revive militancy in the region.
Recent Violence in Kishtwar
On November 10, an encounter in a remote forest area of Kishtwar led to the tragic loss of a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) from the Army’s special forces, with three other personnel sustaining injuries. Just days earlier, on November 7, two Village Defence Guards (VDG) were killed in the district. The terror group ‘Kashmir Tigers’ claimed responsibility for the gruesome killings, sparking heightened security measures.
The release of these photographs is part of a broader campaign to ensure peace in the region. Authorities have urged citizens to support counter-terrorism efforts by sharing any relevant information.
