Tejashwi Yadav snubs BJP’s Delhi wave: 'Bihar is Bihar', won’t be swayed!'
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav dismissed speculation that the BJP’s landslide victory in Delhi will impact Bihar’s upcoming elections. He emphasized that Bihar has its own political dynamics and urged the BJP to fulfill its promises rather than rely on rhetoric.

Bihar: As Bihar gears up for elections later this year, RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has asserted that the BJP's sweeping victory in Delhi will have no bearing on the state's political landscape. He insisted that Bihar’s unique electoral equations remain distinct from national trends.
'Bihar is Bihar': Tejashwi dismisses BJP’s claims
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Yadav brushed aside suggestions that the Delhi mandate would create momentum for the BJP-led NDA in Bihar. "Bihar is Bihar. It needs to be understood," he remarked, underscoring the state's independent political nature.
His response came amid claims from BJP leaders that their Delhi victory signals a broader trend favoring the ruling NDA coalition in Bihar. However, Yadav, whose RJD emerged as the single-largest party in the last two state elections, remains unconvinced.
Challenges for BJP After 26-year comeback
Tejashwi also pointed out that the BJP’s return to power in Delhi after nearly 26 years comes with great responsibility. "Hopefully, promises made to the people will be fulfilled and there will not be empty rhetoric (jumlebaazi)," he stated, taking a dig at the ruling party.
He emphasized that while the people of Delhi have made their decision, Bihar voters will focus on state-specific issues rather than being swayed by external electoral trends.
Nitish Kumar’s fifth term bid and Bihar’s complex politics
Bihar’s political scenario remains complex, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seeking a fifth consecutive term. The JD(U) leader has governed the state since 2005, with brief interruptions, including alliances with the RJD. His current leadership under the NDA is expected to face a stiff challenge from the opposition.
Despite the BJP’s confidence, Tejashwi remains firm that Bihar's electorate will vote based on governance, development, and local issues rather than being influenced by trends in other states.
Bihar's elections on the horizon
With Bihar's elections on the horizon, Tejashwi Yadav's remarks signal a confident opposition, ready to take on the ruling NDA. As the battle for Bihar intensifies, the real test will be how parties address the state’s pressing issues rather than banking on political trends from other regions.
