Shocking Incident in Rajasthan: Man jumps in front of train after dispute with wife

Kota: A 23-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train on Delhi-Mumbai railway line while his wife watched in horror following a quarrel, police said on Monday.

Marital Conflict Turns Fatal

The deceased was identified as Dilraj Meena (23) from Sawai Madhopur district. Dilraj took the drastic measure even as his wife tried to stop him, according to relatives' version. He explained the police is also investigating to determine the precise conditions that led to his death since the man who died allegedly posted a message on his WhatsApp status, indicating something is amiss and is going to happen to him.

Rising Mental Health Concerns

The couple, who got married last year after dating, had been residing in Kota's Balaji Ki Bagichi and rehearsing for the Staff Selection Commission exam, police added. The police said that the couple had a fight on Sunday after which Dilraj threatened to kill himself and left the room. The wife chased Dilraj to the railway line calling him to stop. He jumped in front of the train a few metres ahead of her, police said. The body of the victim has been released to the family following post-mortem and a case filed against him under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, they added.
