Jharkhand News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Sarath, Deoghar district, on Wednesday, underscored infiltration as the central concern in Jharkhand's assembly elections. Speaking about its alarming impact, he stated that the tribal population in Santhal has halved due to infiltration, calling upon the people to safeguard their tribal heritage and families.

Are Tribal Population at Risk?

Highlighting data, PM Modi remarked, "The tribal population in Santhal has reduced to half. Wherever I have traveled in Jharkhand, infiltration has been the top concern. We need to protect every Jharkhandi and tribal family from this growing threat."

As phase one of the elections progressed across 43 of the 81 constituencies, PM Modi further emphasized the need for action to preserve tribal identity and jobs in the state. Elections are being conducted in two phases, on November 13 and 20, with results to be declared on November 23.

Allegations Against JMM-Congress Government

The Prime Minister accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress alliance of aiding infiltrators by making them permanent residents of Jharkhand. He warned about a "huge conspiracy" to alter the state's identity.

“Under the JMM-Congress, steps were taken to legitimize infiltrators, allowing them to seize jobs and livelihoods. Even in court, the JMM admitted to infiltration. The protection of ‘roti, beti, and maati’ (livelihood, daughters, and land) is the top priority in this election,” Modi declared, assuring that the BJP would safeguard these essentials if elected.

Targeting Congress on Tribal Issues

PM Modi accused Congress of disrespecting tribals and attempting to eliminate reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC). Referring to the opposition to President Droupadi Murmu, he said, “When the BJP nominated a tribal daughter as President, Congress worked against her election. Even now, they continue to insult President Murmu.”

He further alleged, "Congress has dangerous intentions. Their 'shehzada' (prince) has openly stated the desire to end reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities." Modi urged voters to stand against such policies and ensure tribal welfare through BJP governance.
