Delhi's political arena heats up as former Chief Minister Atishi accuses the newly formed BJP government under Rekha Gupta of failing to deliver on key election promises, sparking a fiery response from the new CM.
As the political battle intensifies, the focus remains on whether the BJP government will fulfill, the former CM, has already begun criticizing the new administration for allegedly breaking promises made to the women of Delhi. Atishi specifically pointed to the BJP's pledge to provide ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women, claiming that the scheme was not approved during the first cabinet meeting. "The first day itself, BJP started breaking their promises. They have made up their mind to cheat the people of Delhi," Atishi stated.

Gupta's Counterattack

In response, Rekha Gupta has hit back at Atishi and the AAP, questioning their right to criticize after years of their own governance. "The Congress ruled for 15 years, and the AAP ruled for 13. Instead of looking at what they did, how can they raise questions on one day of ours?" Gupta retorted1. She defended her government's actions, highlighting the approval of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which she says was previously blocked by AAP, providing a benefit of ₹10 lakh to the people of Delhi.

Future Plans

Gupta asserted that her government would ensure Delhi gets its due under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. She also announced plans to table 14 pending reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) during the first Assembly session, hinting at potential exposure of wrongdoings by the previous AAP government. "They are worried that when the CAG report is tabled in the House, records of a lot of people would be exposed," she added.

Political Landscape

Rekha Gupta, who won from Shalimar Bagh, has taken on key portfolios including Finance, Revenue, Women and Child Development, and Vigilance. As the political battle intensifies, the focus remains on whether the BJP government will fulfill its promises and address the issues raised by the opposition.
