Rahul ji, check zero...: Anurag Thakur’s sharp 'meme attack' on Congress
BJP leader mocks Congress over Delhi wipeout in fiery parliament speech

Delhi: BJP MP Anurag Thakur launched a blistering attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Parliament today, ridiculing the party's electoral performance with a viral ‘check the zero’ meme. Holding up a poster highlighting the government’s new tax exemption for incomes up to Rs.12.75 lakh, Thakur took a swipe at Congress’s past economic policies and its latest election debacle in Delhi.
Thakur’s 'zero' jibe sparks uproar
Mocking Congress's failure to secure even a single seat in Delhi for the third consecutive election, Thakur repeatedly asked, "How many seats did Congress win in 2014? zero. 2015? Zero. 2019? Zero…" Each time, BJP MPs echoed back, amplifying the humiliation.

From 15-year rule to electoral wipeout
Once the dominant force in Delhi, Congress ruled for 15 years under Sheila Dikshit but has failed to recover since AAP's rise. The latest defeat, despite high hopes for a revival, only deepened the crisis within the party.
With BJP winning nearly 50 out of 70 seats and AAP reduced to 22, Thakur credited the victory to the Modi government’s policies, contrasting them with Congress’s past governance.
"Urban Naxal" dig and Rahul's meme moment
A day earlier, Thakur had called Rahul Gandhi an "urban Naxal" over his claims of electoral malpractice in Maharashtra. Today’s attack, inspired by a viral meme of Gandhi as a fuel station attendant, added fuel to the fire. As the political mudslinging continues, Congress finds itself on the defensive, struggling to counter the BJP’s aggressive narrative.
