Andhra Pradesh: Six people lost their lives while others are injured in the stampede near the Vishnu Nivasam ticket counter that occurred in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday. The tragedy occurred at the counter where 'darshan' tokens were issued for the revered Tirumala Srivari Vaikuntha Dwara.
PM Modi, Amit Shah share condolences
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the stampede. On X (formerly Twitter), in a post by the Prime Minister's Office, it was written, " Saddened by the stampede in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also condoled the incident and wrote, "Horrific stampede at Tirupati temple is very unfortunate. My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. The injured must recover soon."

Rahul Gandhi seeks support

Officials react to the incident
Quoting officials from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, six pilgrims have reportedly died, with only one being identified. The rest have not been identified yet. TTD Chairman BR Naidu has issued a statement confirming that the incident occurred and stating the measures taken to monitor the processes.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu acts
The chief minister of the province, N Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh, was disturbed by the issue. He also telephoned senior officials who handled the event and cautioned the officers not to let such incident happen again. The Chief Minister will be at the victims' homes on Thursday at 11:45 am to pay tributes and witness the situation directly.
