Punjab government launches historic camp to streamline real estate services, boost transparency

Punjab News: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has taken a significant step towards providing transparent and efficient services to its citizens. Today, the Department of Housing and Urban Development organized its first-ever special camp to issue clearance certificates to 51 real estate promoters and builders. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to ensuring a corruption-free and convenient service delivery system.

Streamlining processes for developers

During the camp held at Punjab Bhawan, Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundia and Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha distributed essential licenses, completion certificates, partial completion certificates, zoning plans, and other necessary documents to the developers. Minister Mundia stated, “This special camp is the first of its kind to address the pending issues faced by real estate professionals. A second camp is planned for the end of November.” He emphasized the department's commitment to prioritizing and resolving developers' issues with transparency.

Focus on urban development and collaboration

Minister Mundia urged developers to collaborate with the government in enhancing the quality of amenities in their projects, contributing to the overarching goal of restoring Punjab as a “Rangla Punjab.” Chief Secretary Sinha reinforced the government's seriousness regarding pending work, saying, “This camp is designed to promptly fulfill outstanding tasks for real estate stakeholders, thereby boosting urban development and the state's economic growth.”

Continued efforts for efficient service delivery

Secretary Rahul Tiwari noted that this initiative marks a crucial step towards resolving outstanding matters for state promoters and developers. “Developers are vital to urban development, and we want to alleviate their concerns,” he added. Jagjit Singh from the Confederation of Real Estate welcomed the government's unique approach, expressing gratitude for the initiative.
