Pune rape case: After 2 days, accused arrested from Shirur presented in court
In Pune, a man raped a woman in a parked bus, and he had been on the run for two days. Finally, the police search has ended, and the accused has been arrested.

Pune rape accused arrested: Recently, a shocking incident came to light where a 26-year-old woman was raped inside a bus at Pune's Swargate Depot. The police had been searching for the accused since the crime took place, and now he has been arrested. The accused has been identified as 37-year-old Dattatray Ramdas Gade. He was hiding in a field in Shirur. Pune police had deployed 13 teams to track him down.

Officials reported that late at night, Gade went to someone's house to have a meal. The person immediately informed the police, leading to his arrest. Gade allegedly raped the woman while she was waiting for a bus to Satara district on a platform at around 5:45 AM on Tuesday.The accused misled the woman by telling her that the bus for Satara had arrived at another platform.

He then took her to an empty Shivshahi AC bus parked elsewhere within the premises. Since the lights inside the bus were off, she hesitated to board, but the accused assured her that it was the correct bus. The woman, who worked in the medical field, told the police that as soon as she entered, the accused followed her and raped her.
Demand for Strict Action
There has been widespread outrage following this incident, with people demanding strict action against the accused. It is worth mentioning that the accused, Dattatreya, has been named in half a dozen cases of theft, robbery, and chain snatching in Pune and Ahilyanagar districts. He was out on bail in one of these cases since 2019.The accused had been absconding for two days, leading to the announcement of a reward of Rs1 lakh for information about his whereabouts. A hotline number was also issued for people to provide any leads.
