PM Modi to inaugurate India's first subaquatic metro on this date

The work on the country's first underwater river metro tunnel under construction in Kolkata has been completed. The Railway Minister said that PM Modi will inaugurate it on March 6.

The country had been waiting for this day for a long time. The people of Kolkata were waiting for years for the metro train to pass under the river. The Railway Ministry has now completed all those preparations. The Railway Minister said on Saturday that the country's first underwater metro train is ready to provide its services. Railway Minister Vaishnav said that the country's first metro tunnel built in Kolkata will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on March 6.

Railway Minister Vaishnav recently mentioned in the media that the work of the Kolkata Metro is decades old. Work on this project started in 1970 itself. But this project gained momentum after Prime Minister Modi came to power. The Railway Minister said that PM Modi wants to make the country a developed nation by the year 2047. In this, his biggest emphasis is on the development of infrastructure. Kolkata Metro work has been completed in several phases.

The total length of this tunnel is approximately 16.5 km. Its 10.8 km portion will pass underground. The remaining 5.75 km project has been built above ground. Many people are interested in this metro project.
