New Delhi: In a heartwarming announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a new addition to his family at his official residence on Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi. On Saturday, PM Modi shared the news through a post on X (formerly Twitter), referencing a spiritual saying from ancient Indian scriptures, "Gaav: Sarvasukha Prada:", which translates to "cows bring all kinds of happiness."

The new member at the Prime Minister’s residence is a newborn calf, born to one of the cows on the premises. The calf has a distinctive mark on its forehead resembling a light. PM Modi, inspired by this unique feature, named the calf ‘Deepjyoti,’ meaning ‘light flame.’ In his post, he shared, "In the Prime Minister's residence, the beloved mother cow has given birth to a new calf, which has a symbol of light on its forehead. Hence, I have named it ‘Deepjyoti’."

Accompanying the announcement, PM Modi posted a video showing him affectionately playing with and petting the calf. The Prime Minister can be seen walking around his garden while holding and interacting with the newborn, a sight that quickly gained attention on social media.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi also extended his greetings to the nation on Hindi Diwas, writing in Hindi on X, "Best wishes to everyone on Hindi Diwas." Hindi Diwas is celebrated annually on September 14 to honor the day Hindi was adopted as one of India’s official languages in 1949. The day concluded with PM Modi addressing a rally in Jammu & Kashmir's Doda, marking his first event in the election-bound region.
