Pahalgam terror attack: 1 killed, 12 tourists injured in Jammu and Kashmir
Six tourists have been injured in the firing of terrorists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, while in Kishtwar, security forces demolished a high-tech terrorist hideout of Jaish-e-Mohammed in a 25-day operation.

A picture of terror once again surfaced on Tuesday in the Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, when terrorists opened fire at a resort. At least six tourists were injured in the attack. Soon after the incident, teams of Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police reached the spot and a massive search operation has been launched in the entire area. According to administrative sources, the injured tourists have been admitted to a local hospital and their condition is said to be stable. The security forces are investigating the whole matter seriously. At the same time, this attack on a quiet and popular tourist destination like Pahalgam has surprised everyone.
25-day long operation in Kishtwar
Prior to this terror attack, on April 14, security forces had busted a hi-tech and secret terrorist hideout in Chhatru forest area of Kishtwar district. The operation lasted for about 25 days, in which the link of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists was revealed.

All long-term features
The hideout had all the facilities for long-term accommodation, including food and drinks, religious texts (Quran Sharif), solar panels, Wi-Fi setup, GPS devices and a hidden underground escape route. All these indications indicate that the terrorists had come here fully prepared to stay here for a long time and avoid the eyes of the security forces.
Vigilance needed
The attack, which took place at the start of the tourist season, has raised questions about the security arrangements. Security agencies are taking the matter seriously and are deploying additional forces in the area and carrying out massive search operations to break the potential terror network.
Threat to tourism
Tourism has picked up again in Kashmir in the last few years. But such terror attacks can cause deep damage to the tourism industry. However, the government has made it clear that the safety of common citizens and tourists is its top priority.
Demolition of terrorist hideouts
On the one hand, the security forces are demolishing hi-tech terrorist hideouts, on the other hand, the terrorists are still targeting innocent tourists. In such a situation, the security agencies face a double challenge. Dismantle existing networks and tackle new threats.
