On Friday morning, a devastating explosion rocked the ordnance factory in the Jawahar Nagar area of Bhandara district, Maharashtra. The blast occurred around 10:30 AM, leading to the roof of the facility collapsing and trapping a total of 12 individuals inside. As rescue operations commenced, reports confirmed that two people have been successfully rescued so far, while efforts continue to locate and assist the remaining survivors.

Emergency services, including firefighters and medical teams, swiftly arrived at the scene to aid in the rescue efforts. Bhandara district collector Sanjay Kolte confirmed that heavy machinery, including earthmovers, is being utilized to clear the debris and access those trapped within. PRO Defence Nagpur has stated that they are committed to ensuring all survivors receive necessary assistance.

In the wake of this tragic incident, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole has publicly criticized the Modi government, stating, “This is the failure of the Modi government.” His remarks reflect growing concerns about safety standards and regulatory oversight in facilities handling explosives.
