On Friday, Nayab Singh Saini of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially assumed the role of Chief Minister of Haryana at a ceremony held at the Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh. In an emotional address, Saini committed himself to tirelessly serving the state's 2.80 crore citizens, referring to them as his extended family. He vowed to transform Haryana into a prosperous and self-reliant state, with a focus on good governance and welfare.

Commitment to Development and Welfare

Upon taking office, Saini reinforced his commitment to the BJP's core principles of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, promising that his administration would work tirelessly to achieve these goals. He highlighted key policies that his government plans to implement, including free kidney dialysis treatment for patients in the state, a promise outlined in the BJP’s election manifesto. “The Haryana government will bear the expense of kidney dialysis,” he stated.

Endorsement of PM Modi’s Vision

Saini thanked the people of Haryana for their overwhelming support in the recent assembly elections, where the BJP secured 48 out of 90 seats. He credited the victory to the public’s approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and policies, stating, "The people of Haryana destroyed the Opposition's narrative... Congress tried to instigate the farmers and mislead the youth."

Swearing-In Ceremony and Cabinet Formation

The swearing-in ceremony, held at Dussehra Ground in Panchkula on Thursday, was attended by prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office to Saini and his council of ministers. Former Deputy CM Anil Vij, Shruti Choudhary, and several other BJP MLAs were also sworn in as part of Saini’s new cabinet.

BJP’s Third Consecutive Term in Haryana

This marks the third consecutive term for the BJP in Haryana. The party’s majority in the assembly allowed them to form the government without the need for coalition partners. Meanwhile, the Congress secured 37 seats, but failed to pose a significant challenge to the BJP's dominance in the state.
