Nagpur clashes: Fadnavis promises tough action, rioters to bear cost of destruction
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis stated that the default of payment of the cost would attract the seizure of assets.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday announced that the expense of public property destroyed in Nagpur violence will be recovered from rioters.Fadnavis added that the assets would be confiscated if the price was not paid, and he threatened of "bulldozer" action.

Whatever destruction has been caused will be retrieved from the rioters. If they refuse to pay the money, then their assets will be auctioned for the retrieval. Wherever needed, bulldozers will be employed.Riots erupted in Nagpur's central area on March 17 over the hearsay that a "chadar" inscribed with holy text was torched during protests organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), demanding the demolition of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's mausoleum in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
104 arrests so far: Fadnavis
Fadnavis on Saturday announced that 104 individuals have been arrested for rioting on the basis of CCTV footage. He further added that more individuals will be arrested. "Action will be initiated against the perpetrators of the riot or those facilitating the riot," Fadnavis was also quoted as saying by ANI. "Even those who propagate rumours on social media will be made co-accused. 68 such social media messages have been tracked and removed till now."
Molestation by rioters are false
The top minister also revealed that the media reports of female constables' molestation by rioters are false. "Stones were thrown at woman police constables, reports of molestation not true,He further added that the incident cannot be described as "intelligence failure", but the intelligence (collection) could have been improved.Fadnavis also stated that there is no foreign hand or Bangladeshi link of the incident.
