New Delhi: During an interaction with a delegation of the Dawoodi Bohra community, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the long journey behind the Waqf Amendment. He emphasized that the new law was not implemented overnight but was the result of five years of detailed planning and hard work. Modi underlined the government’s commitment to justice and equal opportunity for all sections of society.
Community Grateful for Long-Pending Demand Fulfilled
Members of the Bohra delegation expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister, stating that their demand for reforms in Waqf rules dated back to 1923. They acknowledged the amendment as a long-awaited relief and a step toward protecting the rights of minority groups within the larger minority population.
