In a statement to reporters in Satara, Shinde shared, “I am doing good now. I had come here to rest after the hectic election schedule. I didn’t take any leave during my 2.5 years as CM. People are still here to meet me, which is why I fell ill.
Maharashtra News: Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, addressed recent concerns over his health and political state on Saturday. After canceling his appointments and retreating to his native village in Satara, Shinde put rumors to rest by explaining that his visit was primarily for rest after a taxing election schedule. The Shiv Sena leader, who had recently returned from an important meeting with BJP leaders in Delhi, shared an update on his recovery, stating he is “doing good now.”
Political Rumors and Clarification
Amidst swirling rumors that Shinde might be dissatisfied with the Chief Ministerial decisions, a close ally of Shinde reassured that these were baseless. The leader confirmed that Shinde remains fully supportive of the BJP's leadership. Speculation arose when Shinde fell ill after his return to Satara, with sources claiming he was suffering from fever and a throat infection.
Health Update and Public Commitment
In a statement to reporters in Satara, Shinde shared, “I am doing good now. I had come here to rest after the hectic election schedule. I didn’t take any leave during my 2.5 years as CM. People are still here to meet me, which is why I fell ill. This government will listen to the people.” Despite his illness, Shinde emphasized his continued commitment to serving the people of Maharashtra and assured his supporters that he would soon return to Mumbai.
Maharashtra CM Candidate to Be Decided Soon
Shinde’s comments come amidst political developments in Maharashtra, where the Mahayuti (a coalition of political parties) government is gearing up for its upcoming oath-taking ceremony. On Saturday, BJP's state president, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, announced that the swearing-in ceremony would take place at Azad Maidan on December 5, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. In a significant political update, Shinde confirmed that the Maharashtra CM candidate will be decided on Monday, December 2.
Shinde’s Health Condition
On the health front, Shinde had developed a high fever on Saturday, prompting his family doctor, RM Parte, to attend to him. Dr Parte confirmed that Shinde was being treated with IV therapy and medicines, advising that he would feel better in the next two days. He also explained that Shinde had been under the weather for some time, leading to his current fever.
