Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP unveils initial roster of 195 candidates, securing approval for key figures, including PM Modi
Sounding the bugle of preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has released the first list of its candidates, in which it has approved the names of 195 candidates, including PM Modi.
In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the first list of 195 candidates. The Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA will be seen winning 543 seats and in this list, it has finalised the first list of names of 195 candidates. 28 female candidates are also included in the first list of BJP candidates. Candidates have been fielded from 51 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
The names of many high-profile leaders have also been approved in the first list released by the BJP, regarding which the BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) held a meeting until late Thursday night and in this meeting every Lok Sabha seat was discussed.

Many high-profile faces cut tickets
In this list, the Bharatiya Janata Party has not placed bets on those MPs whose performance has not been satisfactory and this is the reason why some Union Ministers have not been fielded this time. BJP has repeated three MPs from Telangana, GK Reddy, Arvind Dharmapuri and Sanjay Bandi, while candidates have been changed on all five seats in Uttarakhand. BJP is fielding Deepti Rawat, Rekha Arya, former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and Suresh Bhatt here.

Talking about West Bengal, Locket Chatterjee, Roopa Ganguly, Raju Visht, Shantanu Thakur, Jagannath Sarkar, Nishit Pramanik and Dilip Ghosh have been given a chance. Pratima Bhowmik and Jishnu Dev Verma have been made candidates from Tripura. In Assam, BJP has announced to contest elections on 11 seats while it has reached an agreement with its allies on three seats.
In UP, BJP will contest on 74 seats while Apna Dal (Sone Lal Patel) will contest on two seats, in western Uttar Pradesh Rashtriya Lok Dal is likely to get two seats, Om Prakash Rajbhar's SPBSP on one seat and Sanjay Nishad's party Will contest elections on one seat.
