Comedian's remarks spark controversy

Earlier today, the 36-year-old comedian filed in the high court that he shifted from Mumbai to Tamil Nadu in 2021 and has been "ordinarily a resident of this State since then", and that he apprehended arrest by Mumbai Police, reportedly . Twice called by the Mumbai police, Kamra's remarks on Shinde during his recent show in Mumbai have got him into trouble and sparked a huge controversy.

The furore arose out of his performance at the Habitat Comedy Club in Mumbai's Khar, during which he sang a parody tune directed at Shinde.The performance had enraged Shiv Sena fans, who broke up the club and the hotel it is situated in. Kamra was arrested by the Khar police on Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel's complaint of making libelous comments against the deputy CM.

Mumbai Police summons Kamra to appear on March 31. The Mumbai Police summoned Kunal Kamra to appear before it on March 31 in the case against him on Thursday. "In the second summons given to him, Kunal Kamra has been directed to appear at police on March 31," a police officer said to media. 12 Shiv Sainiks, their leader Rahool Kanal, were also arrested by police for vandalizing the studio where Kamra's show was produced and the hotel itself.
