In a heartbreaking incident in Nangloi, Delhi, a young woman named Soni was tragically murdered by her boyfriend, Salim, after revealing her pregnancy. Following the heinous act, Soni's body was buried in a remote area of Rohtak, Haryana. Authorities swiftly apprehended Salim, who had been seen riding around the city on a motorcycle, seemingly unfazed by his crime.

The Premeditated Murder Plot

The main accused, 20-year-old Salim, also known as Sanju, had meticulously planned Soni’s murder with the assistance of two accomplices, Ritik and Pankaj. On the auspicious day of Karwa Chauth, Salim lured Soni under the guise of romance. After renting a car, he called her, asking to meet. Trusting him—having fasted for his well-being—Soni left her home unaware of the impending tragedy.

The Fatal Journey and Aftermath

Once they met, Salim invited Soni into the rented vehicle and drove towards Rohtak. Midway, he strangled her and subsequently buried her body four feet deep in a secluded forest. Believing their crime to be concealed, the trio returned to Nangloi and returned the car as if nothing had happened.

Investigation and Family Insights

Soni's father reported her missing when she did not return home. As investigators delved deeper, they discovered Soni’s relationship with a man she referred to as “Sanju,” saved in her phone as “Bhoot.” Her sister confirmed this connection, revealing that Soni had even expressed her affection on social media, stating, “I Love Bhoot.” Initially troubled by her pregnancy, Soni's family later accepted it, reassured by her promise of marriage.

Arrests and Confession

On October 23, police apprehended Salim, who confessed to the murder, revealing that disputes over the pregnancy had escalated into fatal violence. Soni’s refusal to terminate the pregnancy led to frequent arguments, culminating in her tragic death. Authorities also uncovered that “Sanju” was a false identity, with Salim’s true background unknown to Soni’s family.

While Salim and his accomplice Pankaj have been arrested, Ritik remains at large, and efforts to locate him are ongoing. Soni’s family is left grappling with the devastating aftermath of this tragic incident.
