Haryana Hit with Costly Current: Electricity Prices Rise After 3-Year Gap
Residents of Haryana woke up to an unwelcome surprise as electricity tariffs shot up for the first time in three years, ending a period of relative stability in power costs. The sudden hike, announced by state authorities, has left households and businesses grappling with higher bills, sparking frustration across the region.

Haryana Electricity Rate : The people of Haryana have got a big shock. Electricity has become expensive in the state. The electricity rate has been increased by 20 to 40 paise per unit by the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC). New tariff rates have been released for the financial year 2025-26. These new rates have come into effect from April 1.
No relief for the industry either
Electricity rates in Haryana have increased after 3 years. Apart from domestic consumers, electricity rates have also increased for industries. High tension line supply for industry has increased by 30 to 35 paise and LT supply for small factories has increased by 10 to 15 paise per unit. Bulk supply rates for industry have been increased by 40 paise. Due to the increase in electricity rates, the economic burden on about 81 lakh consumers is going to increase.
