In the wake of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led alliance securing a strong lead in the Jharkhand state elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to express his gratitude to the people of the state for their continued support. The Prime Minister also congratulated the winning alliance for their strong performance.
PM Modi Expresses Gratitude for Jharkhand Support
On Saturday, PM Modi thanked the people of Jharkhand for their support, emphasizing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would remain at the forefront of addressing the people’s issues and contributing to the state’s progress. He also acknowledged the strong performance of the JMM-led alliance in the state, highlighting their ongoing contributions.
"I thank the people of Jharkhand for their support towards us. We will always be at the forefront of raising people's issues and working for the state. I also congratulate the JMM-led alliance for their performance in the state. @HemantSorenJMM," PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Jharkhand Election Results: A Closer Look
As of 5:45 PM on election day, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha emerged victorious with 19 seats and maintained leads in 15 others. Congress claimed 8 seats, with RJD winning 1 and leading in 3, and CPI(ML) securing 2 seats. On the other hand, the BJP has won 8 seats and leads in 13, with its alliance partners AJSU and JD(U) also making their presence felt. The LJP (RV) secured 1 seat.
A Historic Victory in Maharashtra: PM Modi's Assurance
While Jharkhand’s election results unfolded, PM Modi also celebrated the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance's resounding victory in Maharashtra. The alliance secured or is leading in 230 out of 288 seats, marking a "historic victory" that PM Modi attributed to the people’s faith in development and good governance.
"Development wins! Good governance wins! United we will soar even higher! Heartfelt gratitude to my sisters and brothers of Maharashtra, especially the youth and women of the state, for a historic mandate to the NDA," he posted on X.
