Uttar Pradesh: A massive fire broke out in Ghaziabad's Bhopura Chowk area on Delhi-Wazirabad Road when a truck carrying gas cylinders ignited, causing a series of powerful explosions. The incident occurred in the Thana Teela Mod region around 3:30 am, as confirmed by local councilor Om Pal Bhatti. Fire brigade personnel and police rushed to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Intense fire and explosions delay rescue efforts

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rahul Pal stated that initial rescue efforts were hampered due to continuous explosions. "Around 4:35 am, we received reports of a fire in a truck carrying LPG cylinders. Fire tenders were dispatched immediately, and the police evacuated nearby houses to prevent further damage," Pal said. The fire spread to two to three houses and several vehicles before being extinguished completely. The intensity of the explosions was so severe that they could be heard for several kilometers.

Widespread damage was reported in the vicinity

Locals reported extensive damage to surrounding properties, including a nearby wooden godown, a house, and a hotel, where all mirrors shattered due to the impact of the blasts. Panic spread among residents as the explosions continued. Authorities are assessing the structural damage caused by the incident.

Recent fire incidents raise safety concerns

Earlier this month, a fire broke out in Prayagraj due to the explosion of three cooking gas cylinders. Although there were no casualties, the incident highlighted safety concerns related to LPG storage and transport. Similarly, on January 30, another fire erupted in the Chatnag Ghat Police Station area in Prayagraj, where 15 unauthorized tents caught fire in an open space. Fire officials arrived promptly and extinguished the flames.
