Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to address legislators of the BJP, Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) during his day-long visit to Mumbai on Wednesday. The PM would give guidance on how to spread the message of Mahayuti alliance and decorum in public interactions, a senior BJP leader said. The ruling alliance has more than 230 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and 40 Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs), who have been instructed to assemble at Vidhan Bhavan in the morning.

From there, the legislators will travel in 10 buses to INS Angre, a naval hall in south Mumbai, where PM Modi will address them. Sources indicate that specific strategies will be discussed for the upcoming local body elections, particularly addressing concerns over the conduct of some Shiv Sena legislators under Eknath Shinde's leadership.

Commissioning of Naval frigates

At 10:30 a.m., Prime Minister Modi will be present at the commissioning of frontline naval assets - INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and submarine INS Vaghsheer-at the Naval Dockyard. INS Surat is considered one of the world's biggest and most high-tech destroyers, with a third of the total parts inducted indigenously. It equips advanced sensor-weapon packs and network-centric capabilities. Navy's Warship Design Bureau designs INS Nilgiri, a vessel equipped with the most contemporary features of stealth capability and enhanced survivability. Constructed jointly by India and Naval Group, France, INS Vaghsheer is enhancing the underwater competence of the Navy.
