ED Raids Ex-Rajasthan Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas in PACL Scam Probe
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) took major action on 15 April 2025 at the residence of Jaipur, former Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariwas. In the money laundering case related to the ₹ 48,000 crore PACL scam, the ED has raided several locations including Rajasthan and intensified the investigation.

There was a big upset in Rajasthan's politics on Monday morning when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team raided the Civil Lines residence in Jaipur, former minister Pratap Singh Khachariwas. This action took place suddenly, causing panic in the Congress camp. Many Congress leaders reached the spot as soon as the raid was reported.
Action is related to chit fund scam
According to sources, this raid is said to be associated with the PACL scam, one of the country's biggest chit fund scams. This company is accused of cheating about 50 thousand crores from millions of investors. In Rajasthan itself, about 28 lakh people had invested Rs 2,850 crore in it. The role of Khachariwas in this scam is being investigated and it is being told that he has been summoned once before.
"Reacting to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at his residence, Pratap Singh Khachariwas said, 'The ED has arrived at my house today, and I'll fully cooperate with them. They'll do their job, and I'll do mine. However, the BJP shouldn't utilize the ED as a political tool. I wasn't issued any notice; they directly conducted the raid.' Khachariwas emphasized that he's not intimidated by any agency, asserting his confidence in the face of investigation" ¹.
Scam layers and judicial action
The PACL scam is connected to 5.85 crore investors across the country. In the year 2014, SEBI declared all the schemes of this company illegal and banned it. Investigation revealed that the company paid a hefty amount by pretending to invest in real estate. The matter reached the Supreme Court, where in February 2016, the then Chief Justice R.M. A committee was formed under the chairmanship of Lodha.

This action of ED indicates a new movement in Rajasthan politics. In the atmosphere of Lok Sabha elections, this raid is not only being linked to the investigation, but its political meanings are also being extracted.
