Tamil Nadu News: In a significant political shift in Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin, was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister on Sunday. This appointment follows a cabinet reshuffle that saw the addition of four new ministers from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan in Chennai, officiated by Governor R N Ravi.

Among the new appointees was V Senthil Balaji, who recently received bail from the Supreme Court in a money laundering case. The other ministers sworn in include R Rajendran, Govi Chezhiaan, and S M Nasar. Here’s a breakdown of their designated roles:

An official statement from Raj Bhavan confirmed the allocation of responsibilities, stating, “On the recommendation of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Hon'ble Governor of Tamil Nadu has approved the subject allocation and designation for the newly sworn-in Ministers as noted against each.”
Udhayanidhi Stalin addresses criticism
In his new capacity, Udhayanidhi Stalin will also oversee the Planning and Development portfolio, adding to his previous role in youth welfare and sports development.
