Delhi: After a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP is set to announce its Chief Minister today, ahead of the grand oath-taking ceremony at Ramlila Maidan on February 20.

Delhi: he suspense over Delhi’s next Chief Minister is set to end today as BJP MLAs convene at the party’s state office to finalize their leader. Following its landslide victory, the BJP is preparing for an oath-taking ceremony on February 20 at 4:30 PM at Ramlila Maidan, marking its return to power in the national capital after 27 years.

Who is  BJP's CM pick

The BJP, which won 48 out of 70 seats, is holding a key meeting today to decide who will lead the new government. Parvesh Verma, Vijender Gupta, and Satish Upadhyay are the frontrunners, with reports suggesting the possibility of a woman CM.
The swearing-in ceremony is set to be a high-profile event, attended by:

  • PM Narendra Modi
  •  Union Cabinet Ministers
  • BJP Chief Ministers from across India

Preparations are in full swing under Tarun Chugh and Vinod Tawde, ensuring a grand spectacle at Ramlila Maidan.

 'BJP has no CM face'

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of internal conflict over its CM candidate. AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar claimed the delay was causing governance issues, including power cuts.

Caretaker CM Atishi criticized the BJP, stating:
"Narendra Modi knows that none of his 48 MLAs can run Delhi. The BJP only wants to loot the people’s money."

 No 'Sheesh Mahal' for new CM

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva announced that the next CM will not reside in Arvind Kejriwal’s lavish 6, Flag Staff Road bungalow, which BJP had labeled ‘Sheesh Mahal. Virendra Sachdeva also mocked Atishi, claiming that even her own party does not accept her as the Leader of Opposition. "Luckily, you became an MLA, but even your party doesn’t want you as Leader of Opposition," he remarked.
