Coast Guard, Gujarat ATS Seize 300 kg Drugs Worth Rs 1800 Crore in Arabian Sea
In a massive crackdown on narcotics smuggling, the Indian Coast Guard and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) jointly seized 300 kg of drugs valued at Rs 1800 crore in the Arabian Sea on April 14, 2025. The operation, a significant blow to international drug cartels, underscores the agencies' relentless efforts to curb illegal trafficking along India’s coastline.

Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad ( Gujarat ATS ) and Indian Coast Guard have seized 300 kg of drugs worth Rs 1800 crore in the Arabian Sea. The smugglers had thrown it into the Arabian Sea before fleeing.

The Coast Guard said in a release that the contraband drugs seized are suspected to be methamphetamine and have been handed over to the ATS for further investigation. The ATS and Coast Guard conducted a joint operation near the Indian Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) off Gujarat on the intervening night of April 12 and 13.

The release said that on seeing the coast guard ship approach, the smugglers on the boat dumped the drugs into the sea and fled towards IMBL. It said that more than 300 kg of drugs worth Rs 1,800 crore were seized.
