There have been no casualties. The accident occurred at approximately 10.28 pm, according to officials of the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES). Officials stated, "A slab-launching crane collapsed between two pillars on the high-speed bullet train project on Vatva Road near D-Mart.".
No casualties reported
No casualty was reported fortunately. Western Railway's Ahmedabad Division has confirmed that over 51 trains had been disrupted by the accident. In a statement issued on Monday, National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) said, "On March 23, 2025, at about 11 pm, one of the Segmental Launching gantry utilized for viaduct construction at Vatva (near Ahmedabad) was retracting after successful launching of concrete girder."

The statement further stated, "Senior NHSRCL officials have reached the site… There was no damage to the structure that was built. Two heavy-duty road cranes heavy machinery have arrived at the site for restoration work."
Trains cancelled, diverted
Western Railway's Ahmedabad Division confirmed that over 51 trains were impacted as a result of the accident and suggested people check the timing of their journey so they are not inconvenienced. Twenty-five trains were completely cancelled, including Karnavati Express, Gujarat Queen, Gujarat Express and some inter-city trains. Trains partially cancelled were the Shatabdi Express, Mumbai-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat, Sabarmati Express and the Shanti Express. The Western Railway said five trains, including the Howrah Express, have been rescheduled. Six other trains were diverted, including the Okha-Gorakhpur Express.
