Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made an impressive comeback to the national capital after 27 years — over two decades, in the 2025 Delhi assembly elections, defeating incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by two-thirds majority. Now, the government formation is likely to take place only once Prime Minister Narendra Modi is back from his official visit to the United States on February 15.

2025 Delhi Assembly Elections

As of now, there is no official information regarding the swearing-in ceremony of BJP ministers in Delhi being scheduled for February 15, 2025, or any connection to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's return from the United States on that date. The most recent significant political event in Delhi was the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in September 2024, after which Atishi was sworn in as the new Chief Minister on September 21, 2024. She became Delhi's third woman chief minister, following Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit. Alongside Atishi, five ministers—Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat—were also sworn in.

When Will BJP Leaders and Delhi Ministers Take Oath?

Given that the Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 2025, it is anticipated that any new government formation and subsequent oath-taking ceremonies would occur after the election results are declared. As of now, no official dates have been announced for these events.

Therefore, the claim that BJP ministers in Delhi will take oath on February 15, 2025, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's return from the U.S., lacks substantiated information. For the most accurate and up-to-date details, it is advisable to follow official announcements from the Delhi government and reputable news sources.
