Arvind Kejriwal to campaign for INDIA bloc candidates in Maharashtra, Jharkhand
The Assembly elections in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20 and votes will be counted on November 23.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convenor Arvind Kejriwal is expected to campaign for INDIA bloc candidates in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, according to sources. The AAP leader will focus on assembly constituencies where his party has a volunteer base and where the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidates are free from controversy.
Sources revealed that parties within the MVA alliance, specifically Shiv Sena-UBT and the NCP-SP, have sought Kejriwal's presence in Maharashtra. "Arvind Kejriwal is likely to campaign on seats where AAP has an active volunteer base, and MVA candidates are not involved in any major controversies. Senior AAP leaders will also join in the campaign efforts to support the MVA alliance," the sources added.
In addition to his efforts in Maharashtra, Kejriwal is also expected to campaign for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidates in Jharkhand. "Kejriwal's appeal is expected to help secure votes for INDIA bloc candidates, particularly in urban constituencies," said sources.
Kejriwal's political activities come shortly after his release from Tihar Jail, where he was held in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Granted bail by the Supreme Court in March, Kejriwal surprised many by resigning from his post as Delhi’s Chief Minister, stating that he would not reclaim the position until the public granted him a "certificate of honesty" by electing AAP back into power in the next assembly elections.
Crucial Elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand
Maharashtra's assembly elections will take place on November 20, with votes for all 288 constituencies being counted on November 23. The main contest will be between two alliances—Mahayuti, led by BJP, NCP (Ajit Pawar), and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde); and MVA, consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharad Pawar).
In Jharkhand, assembly elections are slated for two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the vote count set for November 23. BJP, in alliance with All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), will face off against the alliance of JMM, Rashtriya Janata Dal, and Congress.
