On Friday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was attacked during a rally in the national capital. AAP officials accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating the assault through its supporters. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi voiced her concerns, stating that the Delhi Police has not taken any action against those responsible for the attack on Kejriwal.

"During the padayatra, some BJP workers shouted slogans against Arvind Kejriwal and assaulted him. The situation could have escalated further; had they been armed, Kejriwal's life could have been at risk. This incident is a clear indication that the BJP is behind the attack, as they have targeted him previously. To date, there has been no action taken by the Delhi Police against the individuals who attacked Arvind Kejriwal," said Atishi.

AAP Leaders Condemn the Attack

Manish Sisodia, another prominent AAP leader, described the incident as "extremely condemnable and worrying." He expressed grave concerns over the attack, stating, "It is evident that the BJP orchestrated this assault through its goons. If anything were to happen to Arvind Kejriwal, the BJP would bear full responsibility. We refuse to be intimidated; the Aam Aadmi Party will continue to stand firm in our mission."

Saurabh Bhardwaj added that the BJP would be directly accountable for any harm that comes to Kejriwal. "When the ED and CBI tactics failed, the BJP resorted to violence against Arvind Kejriwal. The love and support he receives from the public seem to be intolerable for them," Bhardwaj remarked in a video statement.

Looking Ahead to the Elections

With assembly elections in Delhi anticipated in early 2025, the political landscape is heating up. The last assembly elections in 2020 saw AAP secure 62 of the 70 seats, while the BJP managed to win eight. Meanwhile, the Congress party failed to secure a single seat.
