Amit Shah's bold challenge: Kejriwal must name 'Poison' in Yamuna
Amit Shah rebuked Arvind Kejriwal for alleging that the Haryana government mixed poison in the Yamuna, challenging him to provide evidence for his claims.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has fiercely criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his allegations against the Haryana government regarding the contamination of the Yamuna River. This political spat comes as both leaders gear up for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, with Shah challenging Kejriwal to provide evidence for his claims.
Shah's Strong Rebuttal
During a public meeting in Kalkaji, Shah labeled Kejriwal's accusations as "false" and demanded that he disclose the name of the alleged poison mixed in the river. Shah stated, "Kejriwal ji, winning and losing are part of the election process. Making an innocent face, you accused the Haryana government of mixing poison and tried to scare the people of Delhi. Politics cannot get dirtier than this." His remarks highlight the escalating tensions between the BJP and AAP ahead of the February 5 elections.
AAP's Counterattack
In response, Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Haryana government of intentionally discharging industrial waste into the Yamuna, which they claim poses a severe threat to public health. The AAP has called this act "water terrorism," emphasizing that ammonia levels in the river are alarmingly high. Delhi Jal Board CEO Shilpa Shinde refuted Kejriwal's claims, asserting they were "factually incorrect."
Election Stakes
As both parties prepare for the elections, Kejriwal framed the contest as a choice between welfare for common citizens and corporate bailouts. He criticized the BJP for waiving significant loans for large corporations while promising that AAP would prioritize public welfare initiatives. This fierce exchange between Amit Shah and Arvind Kejriwal underscores the high stakes of the upcoming elections, with both leaders seeking to sway public opinion on critical issues affecting Delhi's residents.
