Chhattisgarh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has urged Naxals in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh to surrender and join the mainstream, reaffirming the determination of the government to put an end to the insurgency by March 2026.

Chhattisgarh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday urged the Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region to surrender and join the path of development. He stated that nobody takes pleasure in killing a Naxalite and further stated that the government is determined to put an end to the insurgency by March 2026.

- Surrender and Progress: Shah invited Naxalites to surrender and reintegrate into society, promising them safety and rehabilitation for the surrendered.
- Development Initiatives: Accelerating development in Bastar is on the government agenda, with all efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi being geared up towards education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
- Incentives for Surrender: An incentive of Rs 1 crore value of construction activity will be awarded to villages contributing to Naxal surrenders.
Growth of anti-naxal campaign
Shah pointed to the success of the anti-Naxal operation, mentioning the surrender of 521 Naxals in 2025 and 881 in 2024. This success, he said, was due to the realization on the part of Naxalites that development and growth are possible through peaceful means.

The 'Bastar Pandum' festival, which is a celebration of tribal culture and identity, will be brought to the national level next year, with President Droupadi Murmu having been invited to join the inauguration ceremony
