Entertainment: The good news comes just two weeks before the big one: Trevor Noah will return to host the 2025 Grammys, which will be held live from Los Angeles on February 2nd. The Grammys will take place as planned although the wildfires in the region have left unimaginable destruction, and the event is also being planned as a fundraiser for the relief efforts.

Grammys turn into wildfire relief

And so, even if the Grammys aim at all and sundry as it takes time to showcase the best music of the genre, it can now do with its role on this stage that of charity; raising money to distribute for victims from California wildfires will also go around acknowledging those gutsy firefighters that lost their life or risking one risking to stop fire in their lands. "We are mourning the loss of life and destruction that has visited our city in the last days," Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said. "As part of our response to this crisis, we commit to further efforts to aid relief efforts: our donation of USD 1 million, for instance, helped to generate more than USD 2 million in emergency assistance for affected areas."

Scandals envelop Pre-Grammy activities

Despite the determination to continue moving forward, there are already rumors floating around whether or not the Grammys should be postponed or rather changed into a large-scale fundraising gala. While the actual Grammys event will indeed take place, there have been pre-Grammy events which have been cancelled, including some of the parties hosted by major record labels, Spotify, and other music-based organizations. Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala, as it celebrates its 50th year, as well as MusiCares Person of the Year celebration in recognition of The Grateful Dead are still set.

Noah contemplates his love for hosting the Grammys

Noah, who had hosted the Grammys in the past, expressed his elation at being a part of this prestigious event again. He spoke about how much he loved witnessing the private moments backstage with the performers. "Moments that you have backstage with the performers. you're just walking around and you're seeing Billie Eilish and she's having a moment with another artist you don't get to see that anywhere else," said Noah, adding, "For me to be part of that is truly, I guess now, it's a three times a lifetime opportunity."

Top nominees at the 2025 Grammys

This year's Grammys are set to be an event of the stars. Beyoncé leads the nominations with 11, while Charli XCX and Post Malone are on eight each. Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish stand at seven awards, while Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan have six nominations each.
