JFK Assassination Files: A release of over 80,000 documents that pertain to the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy has shown the CIA had operationalized a number of secret hubs across the world. The cities mentioned in that list also involve New Delhi and Kolkata. In accordance with the documents, CIA presence also made its way into Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Are there US intelligence agents in your city too?

This question is being raised because some secret documents related to the JFK massacre that were released recently have sensationally revealed that the CIA had secret locations around the world. Following the release of over 80,000 pages of assassination records of former US President John F. Kennedy, it has become evident that the US had been conducting its covert operations in major cities in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. Two of India's biggest cities on the list. The most astonishing item in this list is that two major Indian cities, New Delhi and Kolkata, are also in this list. This has come to light in a document presented by Russian media channel RT, where the names of these cities are inscribed under the heading 'Field Distribution'.

Was Delhi a CIA agent too?

As per the report published by the RT, New Delhi and Kolkata feature in the list of CIA's 'NE Division'. But nothing is certain regarding how much of CIA operations were conducted in these cities or what operations were executed there. But for the first time, data has become available that US intelligence agency bases might exist in India too.

Where were the CIA bases in Asia?

The CIA was also ubiquitous in Asia. The secret bases of the CIA, as per these documents, were in Bangkok, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Manila. Okinawa, Rangoon and Saigon (which were strategically significant to the US during the Vietnam War) were also on the list.

Were there merely detective places or what?

The largest question following these documents' emergence is whether these locations were restricted to espionage activities or was the US employing them to manipulate global politics and conduct covert operations?
