Four Chinese arrested for theft of suspicious documents from collapsed 33-Storey building
The Bangkok office building took three years to build at a cost of over two billion baht. Italian-Thai Development and China Railway No. 10 (Thailand) Limited signed the contract for building the building. China Railway No. 10 (Thailand), which is owned by a leading Chinese engineering group, owns 49 percent.

Four Chinese nationals have been arrested for illegally entering a 33-storey building that collapsed during the earthquake in Bangkok on Friday. Police say the four men were attempting to steal incriminating documents from the building. The police also seized 32 incriminating documents from their possession. The police have begun questioning the four. A building under construction, a high-rise, collapsed minutes after an earthquake hit Bangkok. The 33-story building is owned by the State Audit Office of Thailand. There is an inquiry issued against the company which had been built up with the Chinese backer of the building. Bangkok governor announced that the compound of where the building was being established a zone of disaster. Anyone may not venture into it unless sanctioned.
The manager was also caught
Four Chinese citizens were arrested for unlawfully swiping 32 documents from behind the building which had collapsed due to the earthquake, Metropolitan Police Bureau Deputy Commissioner Maj. Gen. Nopasin Pulsawat disclosed. The police indicated that they received a report of people removing documents from the location. They later discovered a suspected Chinese male at the area. When being questioned, he revealed that he was the manager of the project being constructed. But he also possessed a legitimate work permit. Documents were later confiscated from three other arrested Chinese young people.
Action will be taken against all four
The three said they were employed by a contractor working for Italian-Thai Development PLC. They went to the site to take away documents needed for an insurance claim. The police, after finishing interrogating them, released the suspects temporarily. Later, a complaint was made against Chinese nationals for trespassing into the building site and taking away blueprints and other documents from the building. Action will be taken against the four of them, according to the police.
