World News: The Kremlin has firmly rejected reports suggesting that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump held a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Kremlin, called the claims “completely untrue” and labeled them “false information,” refuting allegations that Trump advised Putin against escalating the war in Ukraine.

Kremlin Responds to Reported Call

In a strong denial, Peskov criticized the reliability of such reports, stating, “This is the most obvious example of the quality of the information that is now being published, sometimes even in fairly reputable outlets. This is completely untrue. This is pure fiction. This is just false information.” He further clarified that no conversation took place between the two leaders and that there were no immediate plans for official talks, dispelling rumors amid speculation over Trump’s intentions to end the Ukraine crisis.

Trump’s Alleged Call from Mar-a-Lago

According to the reports, Trump allegedly reached out to Putin from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, where he reminded Putin of the significant U.S. military presence in Europe and discussed the importance of peace across the European continent. Trump is said to have expressed a desire for continued discussions to resolve the Ukraine conflict before his inauguration.

Trump’s Plan for Ceasefire with Conditions

Trump’s team reportedly discussed a strategy for a ceasefire, potentially allowing Russia to retain some of the territories it has captured from Ukraine. Sources close to Trump disclosed that he has spoken with numerous world leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a move that was not opposed by Ukrainian officials. In addition, Trump’s transition team hinted at a plan that would involve European and British troops enforcing an 800-mile buffer zone between Russian and Ukrainian forces, with the U.S. contributing only training and support rather than deploying its own troops.

Russia Reacts to Trump’s Position on Ukraine

The Kremlin has expressed cautious optimism over Trump’s position on Ukraine, with Peskov noting that Trump’s approach centers on the idea of making deals to achieve peace. While he publicly supported other candidates during the election, analysts believe the Kremlin would welcome Trump’s return due to his skepticism toward U.S. aid to Ukraine and his unconventional leadership style.

Earlier this year, Putin set out terms for peace, demanding that Ukraine abandon its NATO ambitions and withdraw from Russian-claimed regions. However, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has firmly rejected these terms and remains opposed to any territorial concessions.
