A bitter custody war has gone sour, with crypto entrepreneur Prasanna Sankar accusing his estranged wife and the Chennai Police of harassment. Sankar, founder of Singapore-based crypto social network (link unavailable), took to Twitter to post about his ordeal, stating that he was "on the run" from Chennai law authorities.
False complaints and police harassment
Sankar alleged that his wife filed a false domestic violence complaint against him after he discovered her adultery. He alleged that she asked for an enormous divorce settlement and, when talks broke down, used the complaint to harass him. Sankar also alleged that the Chennai Police were assisting his harassment.
Sankar's estranged wife, Divya, has refuted his allegations of illegality and tax evasion. She claimed that Sankar tricked her into coming to India and pushed their son away from her. Divya also accused Sankar of stealing the passport of their son and was scared that he would abduct the child.
Serious accusations
Divya made more serious allegations against Sankar, claiming that he was a sex predator who had secretly recorded women. She said that Sankar was arrested by the Singapore Police for sexual assault and subsequently released on bail. Divya also claimed that Sankar was removed from his company because he was involved in a solicitation and prostitution sting operation.
Official response awaited
Until now, neither side has had an official comment from the Chennai Police regarding either side's allegations. The case is still under progress, with both sides leveling serious charges.
