The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the killing of 214 hostages, alleging that their refusal by Pakistan to negotiate led to their killings. The rebel group's spokesman Ziand Baloch said in a statement that the Pakistani army ignored the 48-hour final warning for the prisoner swap, resulting in mass killings.
Action under 'International law'
The statement said that the Baloch Liberation Army had given a 48-hour ultimatum to the Pakistani army for the exchange of prisoners of war, which was the last chance for the liberation army to save the lives of their personels. As a result, all 214 hostages were executed. The BLA further claimed that it had acted in accordance with the principles of war and international law, but accused the Pakistani Army of sacrificing its personnel. The statement claimed that the Pakistani state preferred to use its soldiers as fuel in the war rather than saving their lives.
Freedom fighters were martyred on Wednesday night
The enemy had to pay the price for this intransigence in the form of the killing of 214 soldiers. The insurgents honoured the 'martyrs', claiming heavy losses to Pakistan. The insurgent group also paid tribute to its fighters killed during the operation, calling them "martyrs". The BLA pays tribute to the 12 freedom fighters who were martyred in this battle, who made unforgettable sacrifices against the enemy, the statement said. Three freedom fighters were martyred on Wednesday night, while four more lost their lives in the battle last night. Apart from this, five fidayeen of the Majeed Brigade sacrificed their lives and gave such a defeat to the enemy that will always be remembered in history.
BLA executes Operation Darda-e-Bolan
The BLA gave details of the ambush on the Pakistani army as part of 'Operation Darra-e-Bolan', which narrated how the Pakistani SSG commandos were ambushed when they tried to rescue the hostages. The BLA claimed that the fidayeen trapped the enemy in a devastating attack and inflicted a decisive blow. Some of the hostage army personnel were locked up in special coaches, while other freedom fighters moved the remaining hostages to safety.
Pakistani SSG commandos arrived for the rescue operation
The group alleged that when the Zarar company of Pakistani SSG commandos arrived for the rescue operation, they faced heavy resistance. The statement claimed that in the battle that lasted several hours, the SSG commandos suffered heavy losses and the hostages were killed. The fidayeen fought till the last bullet, inflicted a decisive blow on the enemy and attained martyrdom by firing the last bullet on himself, following the principle of the last bullet.
Accuses Pakistan of 'false success claims'
The Baloch insurgents accused the Pakistan Army of misrepresenting the situation and claimed that some of those rescued were actually released under the rules of war. The statement alleged that the occupying army is now trying in vain to present the bodies of these fidayeen as a "success" even though they know that their mission was never to return alive but to fight to the last bullet. Despite all its military and intelligence superiority, the army failed to rescue the hostages.
Baloch insurgents vow to continue fighting
The BLA claimed that fighting is still going on and the Pakistan Army is struggling to bring back its dead personnel. The statement said that this fight is not over yet, but has intensified. Baloch freedom fighters are constantly targeting the occupying army by ambushing them in different areas. The enemy is still struggling to get back the bodies of their martyred soldiers. With each passing moment, the superiority of BLA is becoming more apparent. The group also promised that it would release more information about it when the operation is completed.
Pakistan Army announced completion of the operation
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Sharif Chaudhry announced that the Jaffer Express evacuation operation has been successfully completed. He said all 33 insurgents were killed at the site of the attack, bringing an end to the post-train hijacking operation in Balochistan.
